I’ve been there

Why do we need a photo to explain a place?

I’ve been there because I saw photos, visited for a day, and took pictures.

I studied my photos and still felt baffled by the place.

To sit with a photo is how photography works.

When evaluating a picture, give eighty percent to composition and twenty to meaning.

I have Americana highway pictures because I photographed Amarillo and its surroundings while living there.

Other than a camera, one of the most essential things a roaming photographer needs is a parking spot.

Elemental photography happens at home.

My pictures are closer to songs.

Life rarely stands still for long.

We spend more time arriving than being somewhere, and I envy friends living somewhere for a long while.

Each life is an assemblage of chapters, and many of the old-timers in my book are gone, and soon, we’ll be old-timers too.

Each day is a gift.
