Standing at the center of it all

Stone clock towers, arched windows, and decorative ornamentation—courthouses center rural counties.

In the summer, courthouse lawns sometimes accommodate pop-up markets where residents may sell goods and jars of homemade jam.

Whenever I see a courthouse, I picture us joined and sorting out what’s fair.
